The apartment, in a privileged location in the neighbourhood of El Born in Barcelona, needed a comprehensive reform. Both ceilings and floors had to be structurally reinforced, thus the original floor tiles needed to be replaced. We knocked down several unnecessary partition walls, and with very little additional modifications we achieved much more open and spacious areas, which were also able to accommodate different uses. During the reform some frescoes were discovered in between the wooden beams as seen in the picture, and we decided to leave them unrestored in order to maintain their original character.
