The competition consisted of the refurbishing of a late 70s industrial warehouse into the Alt Camp council new headquarters. Competition entry conditions specified that the offices should be on the ground floor while the car park remained on the first floor. In our opinion, this was a flawed approach since it prevented natural lighting for the offices. Consistent with the aforementioned rational, we chose to place the car park at the back of the ground floor, leaving public areas of the Consell open to the main façade (both in ground and first floors). First floor becomes an open-plan office with strategically placed patios that provide natural lighting and ventilation to every single workplace. On the façade we proposed vertical flat metallic panels and big windows to break the rigid current façade composition.
